Time for some Mighty storytelling!

As October draws to a close, I'm clinging onto the autumn vibes and soaking up opportunities for autumn nature play before the winter sets in. With that in mind, I'm hugely excited to share our November picture book for Read With Me fans.

This month, we are delving into the delights of storytelling alongside Melissa Castrillon's Mighty Min. This is a story of self-discovering, helping others and learning to be brave. I hope that as Min finds her courage and her story, your little ones will be keen to share their own stories.

Like Min and her aunts, our evening routine is filled with storybooks and songs. With the lights out, we then retell the events of the day in our own special story of gratitude. Do you have any routines or traditions for sharing your adventures as stories? Storytelling is a wonderful skill for children to exercise their vocabulary, demonstrate emotions and practise empathy.

Another way to inspire storytelling in children is through small world play. Creating a small world with characters and scenery allows your child to puppeteer their own little stories. Small worlds don't have to be anything bought or expensive. They don't require you to purchase particular people or creatures or features. A wonderful way to help children to learn to play is to model the behaviour yourself. And what better way to do so than by using your found Autumn treasures. A pinecone forest and a house of sticks make a perfect setting for stories such as Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Included with the November box is a compact watercolour set for your bunny decorating task as well as a mini Min and owl, perfect for small world play. Children can retell the story of Mighty Min hiding baby rabbit among beautiful leaves and found treasures from an autumnal nature walk. The November box is on sale now. Use the code PREORDERNOV to save £2 off a full price box if you order before the end of October. Pre-ordered boxes will be posted out on Monday 2nd November. Don't forget to use the hashtag #readcreateplayshare when you post pictures on social media. We would love to see your play setups in action!

Also keep an eye out for another email from me next week as I will be launching our next product: Discover With Me! The discovery box is aimed at curious 6-12 year olds and would make a perfect Christmas present with a book that they will love to curl up with and enjoy time and again all year round.
